Not long ago, I was fortunate to get an assignment to Newfoundland.  I had spent nearly a year in Labrador, it’s sister province so I knew, sort of, what to expect.  But Labrador was almost unaccessible except by small plane and boat.  Newfoundland, a gentler place in some respect, had roads and many places of civilization to polk around in.  But Newfoundland, as one person told me, is one of four corners of the world.  This land with it’s endless watery horizons, drew so much music and imagery from me, that I had to create these pieces just to let my soul rest.
