“I had traveled for three weeks on the ice with hunters from the small community of Pond Inlet, located on the northern tip of Baffin Island.   Our goal was to reach the open water called the floe-edge, where beluga whales explored for open leads.  Often we would travel out 30 miles where the distant mountains shown pencil-line thin on the horizon.  Here we watched the clouds, the shifting and melting ice and the abundant wildlife of seals, birds, walruses, whales and more.  Sleeping on a caribou skin in a tent, listening to ice groan below is engrained in my mind forever.”  Arctic Odyssey music and video ©2011 Richard Olsenius.
